OCS supports Tafel Bochum & Wattenscheid’s Food-Fairteiler project

Working together to provide warm meals and more opportunities for participation

Bochum, August 20, 2026 – At the start of the new school year on September 2, 2026, Tafel Bochum & Wattenscheid e.V. will launch a new project: the “Food-Fairteiler” will bring warm lunches directly to children and young people who cannot easily reach a stationary food distribution point.

OCS Optical Control Systems GmbH is supporting the project together with other regional companies and organizations. The financial support provided by the participating partners has helped make the food truck and the implementation of the project possible.

 

Warm meals right where they are needed

The food truck, specially designed for the project, will bring meals directly to the children. This creates an accessible and low-threshold service that can easily become part of their everyday lives.

However, the project is about more than simply providing a warm meal. The children will also have the opportunity to actively participate – for example, by helping shape the menu or preparing desserts themselves. In this way, the Food-Fairteiler combines nutrition with community, participation and a little variety in the children daily lives.

 

A food truck with a special design

The Food-Fairteiler will also stand out visually. The currently black food truck will soon receive a colorful new design featuring the logos of the supporting companies. These will be complemented by creative, hand-drawn versions of the company logos designed by the children using different fruits and vegetables.

This makes the joint support of the regional partners visible while turning the food truck into a colorful and welcoming meeting point for the children.

 

Taking responsibility together

Supporting projects in the local community is an important part of OCS’s social commitment. Working together with other companies and organizations from the region makes this support even more meaningful.
