2025: Two Projects in Focus For Our Donation Campaigns

Bochum, 17 December 2025

Another donation cheque for a charitable cause was presented today to Johanniter KälteEngel® Bochum. The project has been an integral part of Bochum’s network for helping the homeless for more than nine years and has become an indispensable part of the city. On the occasion of the symbolic cheque presentation, we welcomed Ms Nonn, head of the KälteEngel® specialist group, as well as Ms Lara Berndt and Ms Kappenstein to OCS.

Every Thursday evening, volunteers from Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e. V. gather at a fixed meeting point: Bochum Central Station. There, they support around 30 to 50 people, most of whom are homeless, with freshly prepared meals and hot drinks. For over ten years, the Johanniter KälteEngel® have been providing valuable assistance to homeless or needy people in Bochum city centre, especially during the winter months. In addition to food, blankets, sleeping mats, sleeping bags and hygiene kits are also part of the standard equipment for these missions. An accompanying medical team provides medical support and administers first aid if necessary. Additional operations are carried out in extreme weather conditions.

With our donation, we want to strengthen this important commitment and support the ongoing help for people in difficult life situations.
